Psyche

The word ‘psyche’ comes from ancient Greek, where it meant ‘soul, mind, breath, life.’ Nowadays ‘psyche’ is interpreted as (the forces of the) soul, self, mind (Wikipedia).

Strictly speaking, ‘mind’ is cognitive and intellectual, full of concepts, ideas, words, and thinking. In this theory the word ‘psyche’ refers to the whole of a person’s consciousness: conscious, subconscious, left-brain and right-brain functioning, and all the healthy and unhealthy emotions, feelings, beliefs, motives, goals, ideas, structures, programs, strategies, and ego operating within us. It’s everything about us which is less physical than our body.
